Capt. Melanie Panneton will represent the Nunavik Police Force at the World Police and Fire Games.

July 26, 2022

On July 26, Capt. Panneton will participate as an athlete at this international event. Held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the World Police and Fire Games (WPFG) include more than 60 different sports. The participants come from various areas of security such as the police, fire, customs, and correction services.

Competing in the less than 63 KG class, Ms. Panneton will take part in the push pull, and in the bench and deadlift competitions. Her result will come from the scores obtained during these two sporting events.   Ms. Panneton has been a competitive powerlifting athlete since 2019. She began powerlifting while working in Kuujjuaq for the Nunavik Police Service. She also took part in several competitions throughout the years. Ms. Panneton has been planning for a long time to represent the NPS at the World Police and Fire Games. She feels that participating at this international event will enhance the recognition of the NPS from other police departments in the world.
