New search related to drug trafficking conducted in Salluit
In Salluit, on March 6, the local detachment of the Nunavik Police Service and the Nunavik Integrated Investigation Team conducted a search of a single-family home. The home was being used for the sale of narcotics. Police officers from the Nunavik Police Service seized more than 50 grams of crack cocaine, over 350 grams of cannabis, and some LSD. This operation also resulted in the seizure of over $2000 in cash and the recovery of drug trafficking equipment. The file will be completed and submitted to the DPCP (Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions) prosecutor to determine if charges will be filed and whether there will be any court appearances. The apprehended suspect had already been arrested during the operation conducted on February 23 and 24 by the investigators of the Nunavik Integrated Investigation Team.
