Drug bust in Kuujjuaq
On October 12, 2022, the Integrated Nunavik Investigation team, composed of investigators from Nunavik Police Service and Sureté du Québec, executed a drug bust in the community of Kuujjuaq. Two houses and dependences were searched. Joshua Pomerleau, 26 years old from Kuujjuaq was arrested for drug trafficking at his place, on Pomerleau Road. Police officers seized 130 grams of cocaine, 560 methamphetamines pills and 2 prohibited firearms. His pick up truck was also seized as an offence-related property. It is the third time in the last year the that Integrated team arrested Pomerleau for drug trafficking. Pomerleau remains detained until his bail hearing.
His accomplice was arrested for drug trafficking. The suspect was released with a promise to appear. A third party was arrested and released without accusation.
