2019 Kuujjuaq Bike Rally: Hot Dogs, Festivities and Prevention!
The KRPF held its annual Bike Rally in Kuujjuaq today, the activities starting at noon. The event promoted physical activity and raised awareness on road safety.
The fun started off in the parking lot at the Katittavik Centre with the serving of hot dogs, hamburgers and refreshments. Activities included the driving of a pedal go-kart while wearing goggles that simulate alcohol impairment.
Event sponsors and partners donated many prizes, including brand-new bicycles and helmets.
To make hot dogs, you need sausages and buns; to go biking, you need a bicycle and a helmet, said Captain Shaun Longstreet Sr. of the KRPF. When you go biking, always wear a helmet. You never know.
Most kids participated to the closing event: a bike parade in the streets of Kuujjuaq.
Bike rallies will also be organized in Kangiqsujuaq, Ivujivik and Inukjuak.
