The Nunavik Police Service (NPS), Quaqtaq community leaders, with support from the local Firehall and Northern Village, recently organized an Easter Egg Hunt, attracting 83 participants, including 60 children and 23 parents. This event was noteworthy because of its high turnout despite many community members being away during the Easter break.
The event encouraged youth to explore their village and partake in family involvement. Taking place outdoors between the NPS Quaqtaq Police Station and the Fire Hall.
Many parents expressed their appreciation and are hoping for the event to become an annual occurrence. This reflects the community's support for initiatives that bring people together and offer meaningful experiences for our youth. The NPS looks to continue their commitment towards more community engagement and recognizing the potential benefits of such activities. Looking ahead, the positive responses from this event encourage the planning of similar activities in the future, emphasizing the value of community and family involvement.
