Child Pornography Investigation: Three Suspects Arrested
October 23, 2020
Three suspects were arrested on October 8, 20 and 21 as part of a police investigation into the possession and distribution of child pornography.
A joint investigation by the Kativik Regional Police Force and Sûreté du Québec led to the execution of three search warrants in Akulivik, Kuujjuaraapik and Umiujaq residences. Investigators seized numerous electronic devices, all of which were sent to the Sûreté du Québec's technical unit for analysis. Three suspects were arrested.
"None of the victims appear to be from Nunavik," said Deputy Chief Jean-François Morin. "We want to protect youths both in and outside of Nunavik from further child abuse and neglect."
The investigation is ongoing.
